Founder and Artistic Director Arjuna leads “Pause Presence” in beautiful Berkeley, California in February 2018.
The dancing space is a living canvas where a dance artist unfurls the grace of gesture, abides by the mystery of inquiry, lives in the recognition of movement moments, and savors the exploration of sound as shape. It is a web of learning and teaching where dancers hang in the gap of non-doing so they can cultivate the deep listening that accompanies all creative and spiritual happenings.
In these Pause Presence immersive teachings, we nurture skills to recognize the silence at the core of sound, the still point at the center of motion, and how we comfortably inhabit this terrain of freedom among shapes and relations.
This gap of a pause in the action to court the presence of alive and aware reality is a gift given and released throughout the conscious dance field. It is here that the dance takes place and where the dancer is primed for learning, beyond any surface dance encounter. We dance in an atmosphere where it is encouraged to step back, pause, and notice the conscious breath of the dance.”
Soul Motion® is a conscious dance practice that supports students in an inquiry of dance as creative expression, and as a conversation of relationship to self, other, and reality. Soul Motion conscious dance practice values each participant for their unique and distinct voice in the body choir. All are needed. All are welcome. No experience necessary, except for living a life with a desire to become awake to what is actually dancing.
This is what is offered in Soul Motion teaching immersions… Freedom. Aliveness. Presence.
