Hello Every Body,
After our work/play together, I took off with Aletia and headed to L.A. to immerse myself in a workshop as an attendee. It was a glorious ride, filled with dark ominous skies, rain, and some high speed drivers – courtesy of Southern California.
I somehow worked through all of that by recalling our time together and the way we moved from our deepest, most intimate bodies. The panther pause filled this body with an alertness and total body sensing, and that was ideal for the confinement of the driver’s seat. I had to shift a little and declare “I’m driving here,” just to hold my own in the moving space of L.A. freeways. Talk about resisting the tyranny of the majority!
No doubt, my yielding to the flow of events was a first and crucial step into being able to reach out and grasp the situation and pull toward me the intimacy needed to move along.
Ah, the practice continues to show itself in many guises.
It became apparent that every outward movement that was on display in the free-wheeling flow of traffic was a statement being made, and that to listen to these utterances did require that I listen deeply – sense deeply – the gaps that were available in between each statement. The ever shifting corridors became the point of focus and was how I made it to my destination unscathed and fairly relaxed.
A reminder about the inspiration and information/energy that is everywhere. Living this view that each of us is needed, necessary, and vital to the songs of the body choir. We all impress and receive one another. We do nothing alone and we practice how to receive the wholeness that is being communicated through gesture, and the gap. We breathe in that gap space and settle into our sense body a resonance that is the other.
That, my friends, is the Echo of Inspiration.
The dancer that is me respects the dancer that is you, and we movement pranam every time we are in this view of the Echo.
Images of our being, in compression with one another, swirl… and we know that this is a way toward deep relaxation and holding.
Freedom is the form.
I hope to see you again somewhere on this dancing path.
