I received a letter from fellow Soul Motion™ practitioner, Philip Novotny from California. In his letter he spoke about seven energy centers of the body and made allusion to Soul Motion™ point of views.
I found this correlation fascinating and a model for all us practitioners as we reach out into the worlds that call to us and discern a Soul Motion™ message of integration and awakening being spoken in these other languages.
Here is what he wrote in bold followed by personal commentary.
7th - universal connection / temenos / 6 directions
The dance of Orbit and its widening circle of inclusion and the sacred space of our “front” being dance everywhere. This spiral orientation for our dance is the primary field of endeavor and the language spoken for souls in motion. It is the first order of business for actuating the body/mind/heart for a Soul Motion™ excursion. We initiate a circular field of awakened awareness for transformation, protection, learning, and teaching.
6th - thinking / intuitive impulse manifested through feeling (take that elevator downtown), heart center / seeing form as art, art as form
This point of view deals with our ability to discern the mind/body messages as either aiding or delaying an immediate awakening to the movement moment. We acknowledge that we remain the place in space where the One manifests as many. We come down from the tower of thought into the garden of immediate sense perception and move, stop, move, listen, move, and look with detached and empty eyes and ears.
I am enough. I am necessary. I am motion.
5th - exploration and adventure in non verbal communication and breath awareness / translate urges to speak into movement
Practitioners are encouraged to begin again and decide again about the value of breath awareness both as a rhythm to move with and as sanctuary to rest and witness. Through breath awareness we begin to view the motion of all things, at all times, and our inherent connection to this stream of emergence, development, and dissolution. The evolution of enlightenment and development is continuous and at hand, and we all share in it.
4th - movement impulses originating from the heart center extending outward to shoulders, elbows, wrists and out thru palms
We are perpetually in a spiral rotation of motion and an awareness of the heart/mind as a vibrating center of communication, clarity, and connection. In Soul Motion™ practice we develop a heart centered viewing and response to everyday conditions. We walk a path of unconditional acceptance for all, knowing that this is a tough task to tackle. Our eyes are fully open to the rocky surface this path holds and we continue in our conviction that the heart can lead and direct us smoothly through all adverse situations.
3rd - detachment of ego identity, move as if no one is watching, letting go of any concept and attachment to a magical, meaningful dance and remaining in ever present new now
As practitioners of this movement philosophy we constantly seek the translation of dance room to every day dance. In this everyday dance we highlight the ordinary moment as sacred and look within each activity for the seed of sanctity.
We recognize our earthly plane of existence as containing whatever is needed for spiritual growth and development. We continue our practice of dealing with “just this”.
2nd - expanding the awareness of the hara / red spot / center of gravity...directing intent to remaining centered on one's edge of intimacy and sensuality, distinct and separate from sexual energy
Practitioners embrace passion and fervor for the creation and dissolution of every movement moment. We know this current as a force that requires awakened attention to any inaccurate stories and myths we have been told around intimacy and sexual energy. We are willing to go through the dark bag of past events and empty it of all content that keep us from experiencing the passion of relations, to self, other, community, and Life.
1st - grounded ness, pause, breath awareness, stillness
The flux and flow of our dance as space in shape is directly equivalent to the steady and grounded presence of a witness state. The freedom in our dance to exalt across the room and the everyday is proportioned to our stake in humility and service to others. We practice staying close to the ground so we can soar over that which is trivial and tedious. We stay close to one another in solidarity as a mutual experiment in human, being.
