Soul Motion: Unity Inquiry
What happens in the dance room is a microcosm of what happens in the everyday dance. Soul Motion dancers practice seeing themselves and others as one essence knowing that all people desire happiness; all people wish to alleviate suffering. With consciousness of our unity as a strategy for more purposeful living, we look for those excluded from the dance and weave them in through landscapes of creative expression, relationship, and dialogue with divine nature.

Finishing up a week long experience at Esalen Institute with Ramon Albareda and Marina Romero, their work is called Holistic Sexuality: A New Integral Approach. To be in a position to look deeply at choices and how they are made and my own fear of making them, to cultivate unconditional acceptance, to find myself on the receiving end of rejection, to take a deep look at my own aging process and how that affects the degree of desirability, where some of the arenas I found myself moving through during this week. Right now I carry a feeling of impermanence and emptiness and I am certain that as the nights come and go and I find my back again to light, things will be illuminated for me. In that spirit of not knowing I offer these two writings which arrived as stories during a couple of the exercises during the week and which I shared with the group.

The earth is alive
I spotted her
In all her aliveness
Yesterday
as I sat
as a rock
in a fluid field
of erotic emotions.
I witnessed her
Rolling her hills
matching my breath
I waited
in position,
a receptor
a heart connecter.
The earth is alive.
She breathes,
she relieves,
she receives,
she restores,
she releases.
The earth is alive.
I notice
her motion
as I sit still.
I heard her speak
through the silence.
She whispers above
my plaintive wail of
“Love me, love me, love me”!
Softly she reassures
”soy suficiento”,
soy neccesario”
I am sufficient.
I am necessary….The earth is alive.

I wish to report a crime. I became aware of this crime today while contemplating the sky. This crime is big, is huge, and is beyond anything we can imagine. This crime is so big that it cannot be contained by the yellow tape put out to secure a crime scene. This crime encompasses the vast reaches of the sky, the depths of all the oceans. It runs across the desert, rolls through the hills and mountains and takes in all the cities across the planet. This crime has touched all of us who inhabit the earth today, those who came before us, and surely will touch those who have yet to arrive. This is no ordinary crime. It cannot be easily categorized. This is the crime of compassion and God’s fingerprints are on everything and everyone.

Travel well….vinn
