The soul in motion is a wayward, unpredictable entity. This is how it becomes when one understands how fixed patterns can become a hindrance to emerging consciousness. It can be too easy to fall into a state of mesmerized magic. We fall off the time line of immediacy and into a Shangri-la state of suspension.
You may have seen this look or perhaps have experienced it yourself. The eyes are glazed over with a film covering and there is a frozen smile of tranquility plastered across the face. There is nobody home attending to the movement moment as it arrives, but rather, there is a one size fits all temperament.
I am suggesting that you and I challenge this type of sameness and continue to disturb patterns, rearrange the familiar, and disrupt the dream that lulls us away from the dynamic of the unpredictable movement moment. I am asking that we awaken to the full engagement of the movement moment. Seeing what is around us, listening dearly and deeply, contacting the floor, the air above our heads and each other at every possible turn in the dance.
The line between mindfulness and mindlessness is a thin one. Often it may appear as if the movement is ascending but in fact we are free falling into a space where we lose our relationship to breath and the moment. We do whatever it takes to hang on to what is familiar. We become in essence trapped in a dissociated trance where no one is seen, heard,or felt.
I am encouraging that the creature of all senses be allowed to roam with you and I as the dance makes us over.
I am wondering if you will step forward and risk your look good for the sake of your soul. In the clash of ego and soul, give yourself over to soul.
be well,
