Soul Motion: Unity Inquiry
What happens in the dance room is a microcosm of what happens in the everyday dance. Soul Motion dancers practice seeing themselves and others as one essence knowing that all people desire happiness; all people wish to alleviate suffering. With consciousness of our unity as a strategy for more purposeful living, we look for those excluded from the dance and weave them in through landscapes of creative expression, relationship, and dialogue with divine nature.

I find for myself, these days, an increasing awareness of being the prayer. I am in a phase of my life that has in its view a steady line of reverence and gratitude for what is currently showing on the screen of this daily show. I find increasingly that the presence of life within me, or another shows up with a tender and fragile outlook for caring about others. I am in recognition of the fragility of this life and the immediacy of the power of the Presence in all activities. My challenge is to continue active contemplation activities in more formal ways, meditation, gratitude walk, humility, and service to another are some of those ways. I am losing touch with the mundane and increasingly embracing the special order of the One, everywhere. I do, indeed, operate spiritually from the horizontal level and see the divine all around me and embodied with every conscious and unconscious gesture and shape. I view my calling to awaken in this temple of form in space as motion. I see my life lines coming from the steady ship of routine. Routines which hold me to the ordinary tasks of the everyday and plant me firmly in the present moment are keys that are unlocking the doors of dread. For me, the dropping down from the tower of thought into the body knowledge of shape awareness provides a direct line to the presence of life in me, the presence of life in another, the presence of Divine Life. This is the dance I currently practice in SoulMotion.
