When mired in the muck of indecision and the terror of moving into strange landscapes paralyzes my being and strangles the courage to re-arrange the familiar, and instead lands me on a terrain of timidity, the question is presented… “Do I trust the moment or the memory?”
I jog the tread mill of exposure and revitalize the moment to include all that moves as me. At times the only appropriate movement available is a pause.
A stand still to listen to what is being sounded in the streets of sensation becomes a compass for compassionate concern.
Huge screens of censors are pulled down in place to show the flickering influence of the memory mind with its cry of play safe and walk gingerly and no rocking the boat.
The epithet becomes the mantras of a life screeching to a halt and stumbling somewhere between a plateau of earlier promise and a valley of future vision.
What does occur in those moments of terror and chill to the dance which knows only shifting sands of shape and space and sensation? In what ways can I make the immediate moment the basis for my response?
How will I know if this “now” play is the most effective for this scenario?
The suspicion here is that there are no guarantees, no promises held up to the light of the moon and reflected in a safe and cushioned free fall from the mystery and magic of all indefinite moments to the dance of the everyday.
“You pay your dues, you take you chances!” spoke the elder braided haired teacher from the Bronx streets. The everyday dance has a tempo and rhythm that moves like a street symphony with sections of lush strings for safety and harsh horns of the strident, and alarmed pulsating drums that keep the pressure steady and moving along the path of stumbles and fumbles of this everyday dance.
The body choir of the everyday is ready with the song that sings through each and every one of us. We are invited to sing our song and listen to the chords of connection which cry out and turn our ears into scoops of souls in motion.
Live the moment, or live the memory.
Be well within love...........vinn
