Soul Motion: Conscious Dancing
Soul Motion introduces viewpoints and experiences for developing attention to the present moment using body awareness to stay grounded in the movement moment. Noticing ways we escape presence through dreams and desires, Soul Motion, through conscious breath awareness and movement, encourages a continuous awakening to presence.

Do you wish to be happy?

Do you wish to be right?

This inquiry is popping up a whole bunch these days, like hot toast, in the morning, with cups of café con crème.

I could not invite a more nutritious way to break the fast of force, fear, and fright.

I appreciate how at times we all need to clutch on to an obelisk of familiarity and security that towers over the wide boulevard of unknown travel.

I appreciate the journey in all directions by mysterious drivers transporting passengers of fresh ideas and novel methods.

I appreciate the desire for established rules of the road, especially in the midst of the unpredictable stressors of the everyday dance.

I appreciate how the yearning for sanctuary can trump the more porous quicksand of unfamiliarity and novelty.

The view from the obelisk is clear and from here we see where everything is, where everything originates, and where everything is heading.

We hang on to this perch in spite of evidence that suggests that to allow for a free fall of events to unfurl may be the more precious option.

We cling to the apparent safety of the obelisk, fearing death, when it is in fact the letting go and falling where living is enhanced.

We hug tightly the history of how we have done things and fail to embrace the mystery of a radical approach.

We time travel to the positive reviews of our past dances and miss the power and presence of learning new steps of this movement moment.

Our look good of fullness becomes more important than a good look at emptiness.

The 'no daring' is what becomes fatal.

Candor in meeting these ailments of soul, which always position as strategic scenes of survival and success, lay to waste any allusion to clear channels of seeing the larger picture.

What is it like to back away from the correct pose and review this entrenched ego sitting in the cat bird seat of high mindedness?

What will awaken this slumbering soul to notice the stifle of risk which smothers as this patient turning blue falls to pieces?

What conditions do we nurture to ring the alarm and sound the call in the everyday dance of playing safe and risking the life we know?

I witness the heat rise from the belly and the constriction around the eyes as the muddled voice of limit and lack screams out to bolt from here and head for the safety of history and escape the siren of mystery.

This voice admonishes to challenge nothing, avoid risk, and hold on dearly to my way of doing, and above all observe the other as stranger.

Enemy ship approaching,

Full speed ahead,

Release the torpedoes!

I aspire to be joyful.

I aspire to discover how to surrender.

I aspire to raise the white flag of understanding.

I aspire to learn to hold my fire.

I aspire to know how to watch for the maneuvers of mind.

I aspire to discern the ease of a soul in motion from the schemes of a body drawn toward the least resistant.

I tire of holding on to my position and defending the territory surrounding it.

I grow weary of all night vigils protecting the perimeter of personality.

Fatigue has fastened itself to my bones and I long for true friendship.

The kinds of friendship that will hold no matter the circumstance are the one for me.

The kinds of friendship build on respect and kindness.

No matter the circumstance!
